Numbers Game

December 20th, 2009 | by raiderstu |

A little fun with numbers, Raider style:

2: The number of sacks Richard Seymour has recorded in 12 games since getting two in his first game as a Raider in the season opener against San Diego.

3.1: Darren McFadden’s average yards per carry this season, which is better than only the 49ers’ Glen Coffee (2.6) among running backs with at least 50 carries this season.

4: Despite missing two games and starting the season listed third on Oakland’s running back depth chart, Justin Fargas is on pace to lead the Raiders in rushing for the fourth consecutive season.

13: Linebacker Kirk Morrison ranks 13th in the NFL with 101 tackles through 13 games.

17.5: Wide receiver Louis Murphy’s average yards per catch, which is fifth-best among NFL rookies.

20: The Raiders selected McFadden with the fourth overall pick in the 2007 draft … 20 places ahead of the Titans’ Chris Johnson, the NFL’s current rushing leader with 1,626 yards and an average of 6.0 yards per attempt.

21: The number of rookie wideouts who have more receiving yards than Darrius Heyward-Bey (124).

51.4: Punter Shane Lechler’s NFL-leading yards-per-kick average his season.
